An active pattern of cold fronts will continue across southern Australia this week, affecting both the southeast and southwest.In the southeast, a cold front will move through from Sunday into Monday before being replaced by a high-pressure system. This will bring several days of settled weather, with clear skies, light winds, and very cold mornings throughout the working week. Another front is expected to arrive from Saturday through Monday. While it will be the stronger of the two systems, widespread heavy rain or damaging winds are not anticipated.In the southwest, a trough and cold front will develop on Monday and move through on Tuesday, delivering a welcome soaking to the southern half of Western Australia. Additional fronts are forecast over the weekend and again next Monday. These systems are also expected to be relatively modest, although the front early next week currently appears most likely to produce the strongest wind gusts.Across northern Australia, the dry season is firmly established, with stable conditions and little to no rainfall expected for most of the week.Elsewhere, widespread frost is likely across New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania as clear skies and light winds allow overnight temperatures to fall well below average.
